Is there anywhere to store our luggage after we debark in Istanbul before we go to the airport that evening ?

Is there anywhere to store our luggage after we debark in Istanbul before we go to the airport that evening ?

 

There's not any storage that I can recall in the cruise terminal. We've cruised out of Istanbul 3 times.

 

I can suggest 2 alternatives. The first would be to go to the airport straightaway. It's maybe 20-25 minutes from the cruise dock. Once there, stash your bags at the "Left Luggage" counter for the day. Expect to pay a few dollars per bag. It's also possible you can check them in early with your airline, but generally airlines have a time limit of somewhere between 4 to 8 hours before your flight; they won't accept checked luggage before then.

 

The other choice would be to arrange a driver and car large enough to hold you bags to meet you at the pier. This will be the most expensive choice, but it will save you time, and give you maximum flexibility on your day in Istanbul.

 

If you have the choice, plan a night or two post-cruise. Istanbul deserves at least 2 days, and 3 is better. It's a wonderful city to visit, and has lots of nice B&B's in the old quarter for around $100 USD per night.
