CincyAL Posted March 3, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 3, 2009 Planning an upcoming Viking trip. We will book our own air. Wondering if anyone has recent first hand experience with taxi fare to/from airport to Viking hotels (central city) in Berlin & Praque?
jacksonnh Posted March 3, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 3, 2009 Al - we stayed at the Hilton in both cities. As you probably know, you can purchase the transfers from Viking and let them do the work. The distance from Tegel in Berlin is about 8 miles and will cost about 20 euros. They may charge more for extra bags. Prague - this advise was given to me by a few destination guides so I'm passing it on to you - For 26 CZK (slightly higher if you need a ticket for extra large luggage), take bus 119 from the Prague airport to DEJVICKA (the metro station at the beginning of line A and the last stop for this bus line) which goes to stations in the historic center of Prague. (A taxi will charge you twenty times this amount, higher if they try to rip you off. Never get into a Prague taxi without agreeing on a price in writng). It maybe possible that your hotel has airport transfers. The ride from the airport to the hotel seemed to take forever due to construction last September.
