UME6869 Posted March 8, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 8, 2009 I was reading a post on preloading your s.s. card before you go. I always pay with cash and never use a credit card. I have in the past just told the cruise ship company when I arrive that I want to use cash. I have never been told that I have to give them a credit card as a back up for the cash acct. One of the posts I read, said you can use cash btu still have to give them a credit card for back up.Does anyone know if this is ture? I don't have a credit card and will not have one for our may sailing on the victory, will this cause a problem for me? I refuse to give anyone my mac card for any reason, so thats out. Any thoughts? QLUVS2CRUZ Posted March 8, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 8, 2009 I have not heard that you have to offer a credit card as backup. If you want to use cash, you give cash when you board. If you approach that amount on the cruise, your S&S card will be cut off until you go deposit more cash. You can call Carnival to be sure, but I don't think you have to have a CC.
