Cruising Gal Posted March 12, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2009 Hello, While I've read on this Board concerns about P201 on Plaza deck on the Golden due to its size and noise, I was wondering if anyone had any noise concerns with P211, which is still Forward (lots of movement, I know), however about 6 cabins away from the front. Any comments on this would be appreciated and thanks!
Rob & Beckys mom Posted March 12, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2009 Hello, While I've read on this Board concerns about P201 on Plaza deck on the Golden due to its size and noise, I was wondering if anyone had any noise concerns with P211, which is still Forward (lots of movement, I know), however about 6 cabins away from the front. Any comments on this would be appreciated and thanks! Never been on the golden, but we did a transatlantic cruise on a small ship (650 passengers) and had a forward cabin. I was very worried as we prefer the aft cabins, but it was just fine & I get motion sickness very easily. Worried for nothing. Hope yours turns out as well as ours did. leoandhugh Posted March 12, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 12, 2009 even though you are 6 cabins back, it is still way forward so that in any rough seas where the ship is plowing into the waves you will get a lot of noise of waves slamming the ship and upand down movement (pitching) In relatively calm weather it should not be an issue but it is a chance you take when booking anything that far forward.we are on Golden right now inHawaii and not much in the way of waves
cruisingready Posted March 12, 2009 #4 Share Posted March 12, 2009 we were on the plaza in the front on a 10 dayer to the caribbean and never had noise or any problems there. we will be in p330 for hawaii and sure we will be just fine
Cruising Gal Posted March 12, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted March 12, 2009 Thank you so much! Glad to hear there are smooth seas right now. We were worried about the location being under the theatre and close to the front where the stabilizers are.
Colo Cruiser Posted March 12, 2009 #6 Share Posted March 12, 2009 Personaly I would not take a Plaza deck cabin that far forward.
leoandhugh Posted March 13, 2009 #7 Share Posted March 13, 2009 stabilizers are not forward - they are midships what is forward are the bow thrusters and those are operative only in docking and undocking so the vibration may disturb your sleep during an early morning docking:)
Cruising Gal Posted March 13, 2009 Author #8 Share Posted March 13, 2009 Thanks so much for the clarification! With the Hawaii cruise, there are only a few ports so it sounds as if we wouldn't have to worry too much about this concern afterall. Yeah!! Thanks again!
