Anyone familiar with cabin 9506 on Star?

We just got upsold to this OS and are leaving Saturday March 28 to the Mexican Riviera! I'm soooo excited I can't wait to find out the answers to my questions!

Anyone sailed in this cabin or have any pics?

What is the front balcony like, can it be used on sea days or is it too windy? What kind of wine can you choose for the 3 bottles of liquor?

Does this suite include a behind the scenes tour?

Does anyone know who the butler and concierge are?

Where do we go for VIP boarding?

Congrats... Unfortunately I can't answer any of your cabin questions as it will be a year from this coming May before we get to experience the OS on the Star. I can tell you that we LOVE the Star.. she is our favorite NCL ship to date. Simone Weigle (sp? for last name) is the ships Concierge and IMHO, is the best in the business. She is the standard we judge all other Concierges by and few come close. You will LOVE her. As far as tours, be sure and ask Simone for any "behind the scenes" tours you want that may not be offered to the general public. If she can arrange it, she will.

As far as VIP check in, the terminal at the Port of LA is the worst as far as I am concerned. When we were there a year ago last Nov, they did not have an actual VIP lounge like they have every where else we have sailed out of, however just look for the signs that say "Penthouse Suites, Owners Suite and Garden Villa" check in. They will take care of you from there.

Have a great cruise and come back here and tell us all about it.

We were in the GV on our 2-21-09 cruise and one of the other CC members gave us a tour of their OS. I think it was 10506 (Picasso suite) one deck up from yours. It was great. It has a 1/2 bath just inside the door, a large living room, a dining area with the side deck off it. The bedroom has the front deck off it. The front deck was very large and deep. Dawn did say that they really couldn't use it while the ship was at full speed, but it was great as you were coming/leaving port. Just be sure not to open the door to the suite if you have the doors to the decks open. It's a wind tunnel effect and everything that's loose will blow out the door.

I'm not sure who the butler will be, but I think the Concierge should still be Simone. If it is you're in for a real treat. Simone is so good we changed our PC cruise to Jan 16th so we could have her as our Concierge. She's leaving later this year to get married to Andreas. Who is the Executive Chef on the Star. If you do have Simone, please tell her Linda and Mike from the GV said hello.

When you arrive at the Port of LA you will be directed to a large warehouse building, after giving the porters your bags. When you enter there is a large sign that will direct you to the short line for Suite and GV guests. It's at the far right side of the room. You will have a separate area to wait for your butler to arrive to escort you to your suite. There is juice and snacks while you wait.
