Host Dan Posted April 11, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2009 Hi, I am looking into some Seabourn cruises and received a quote through a UK TA internet site. The fare is quite a bit less than the US TA quotes. A while back I was introduced to a popular UK TA who was unable to give me a quote or book a cruise due to the fact that this wasn't "allowed". (A US citizen booking through a UK Travel Agent) Any insight on this??  Host Dan
Prunella Posted April 11, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 11, 2009 Our friends in the US use our TA here in the UK and even last year when the pound was strong still said they got a better deal. It certainly can be done and as far as I am aware is allowed! Good luck.
Kagehitokiri Posted April 12, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2009 indeed, you can use a travel agent located anywhere. for example, there are only virtuoso members in ~20 countries, and i think most are in the US. id imagine international relationships are pretty common for them. SusanNJ Posted April 13, 2009 #4 Share Posted April 13, 2009 I do not know how much cheaper it is to book via the UK, but my agent gives me a 10% discount off the lowest fare. I am also booked on a gratis 5 hr. excursion.
