Can I use my cell phone on a Transatlantic cruise, while on the ocean? What is the least expensive way to communicate. I have Verizon/Alltel.

Yes you can as the ship cell towers are by satellite. The truth is, there is not inexpensive way. The ship charges a fee to your phone account as does your service provider. I have AT&T and have added an international calling plan which seems to help costs.
