Victory-Guest Lecturers with port info onboard?

A friend will be taking her first cruise in May (Southern Caribbean on Victory). We cruised recently (not on Carnival) and there was a guest lecturer onboard. He gave us great information about each port, especially for those not taking organized tours. He talked about taxi tours, and in which ports haggling was good and not good, etc. Does anyone know if Victory has port lecturers onboard? Thanks for any help.

There will be a ports of call briefing, typically on the first sea day, that will be much like what you describe.

The Cruise Director will detail procedures and attractions at each port. The folks who attend will be able to follow along on an excursion booklet that will be delivered to their cabins the previous evening.

One of the best things about it is that the cruise directors are typically very honest about the experiences... 'if you want to do the dolphin excursion it would probably be best if you wait 'til you get to Cozumel because...' etc...

I'm sure your friend will get a bunch of great information!!

:)
