Hamish's walkabout

Captain Hamish Reid is in charge again on Oriana for Christmas. He is the only captain I have seen to do a walk about of the ship each day. Was always impressed with that.

Don't know Capt. Hamish Reid, but Captains Chris Rynd and Andy Proctor of the Princess arm are often out and about the decks. Both very personable and approachable types.

 

I still have high hopes of someday taking Oriana through the Suez Canal.

Hello,

Another high profile Captain who tours the ship daily is Ian Walters(Aurora)

He allways stops to have a chat with someone.

hallsuk2 - agree with you about Capt Ian Walters on Aurora. Not only is he highly visible around the decks, I'll never forget him sliding into a booth next to me at the Orangery with his lunch on a tray. Wasn't quite 'dinner with the Captain' but a great personal touch for a couple of gobsmacked passengers :D

Hamish Reid impressed me when he spent two hours or so on the quay in Barbados shaking hands with the departing passengers and thanking them for cruising with P&O..

Thanks - but wrong Canal. I want to go through the Suez on Oriana.

 

Have been through the Panama Canal three times - great trip - but not the one I want.
