Curious about Scotch Bonnet Beach

How did Scotch Bonnet Beach get it's name? There is a shell called a scotch bonnet, are there these shells found on this beach?

There isn't a beach in St. Kitts called Scotch Bonnet. It is a piece of land located on the South East Peninsula that is being sold to build upscale homes.

 

Thanks, I was looking at a map and saw the name Scotch Bonnet. I thought it was a beach.

 

I am trying to decide which beach to go to. :)
