Hyatt Regency downtown MIA

That's a great price for a good night's sleep. Their bedding was very comfy during our stay last month. Not the best location. There's a highway on/off ramp at the front gate. A bit of a walk to Bayside, better to take a taxi. I think Brickell village is not far, we didn't go there. We got in late, about 7pm and were just looking for a good night's sleep. We got it. We're a family of four, so we shy away from Priceline. It's a $10 taxi ride to the port.

There's a Walgreen's on Flager. About 4 blocks away. There is also a CVS that was in the last stages of construction when we were there. It's right on Biscayne. Might be on the same block as HI-POM.

The Hyatt was nice. Excellent staff. Nice room. Comfortable bed. For a one night pre-cruise stay, it's fine. We had a long journey from NY. We home about 9am and didn't get to the hotel till 7pm. At that point, the bed was a God send.

We're all set for our hotel for Nov. 29th but now need a hotel in MIA for Sept. 25th.

Opions please .....Hyatt Regency downtown MIA priceline $55. + Would you do it?

thanks again,

Mimi

Absolutely. Great hotel. Great price. It has a gift shop in the lobby area. Awesome breakfast buffet (although @ $25 a bit steep). You can walk 3-4 blocks to cafes/delis/drug stores. Take a free mono-rail from the hotel itself to roam around in the city in the morning before going to the port. If there is more than 1 of you, do not pay per person shuttle rates to go the Port. Just take a cab for $10.

Stayed there in February through priceline and had no complaints - room had been freshly painted and we could still smell the paint smell but it was faint. We got on the people mover but I wouldn't suggest in after dark. There is a CVS about two blocks from the hotel where you can pick up water and snacks before the cruise - there is a subway right across from the CVS so that if you don't feel like eating out fancy you could take it back to the hotel. We had a "city view" which was fine and when I asked if they had any rooms that you could see the water they said there was too much building going on and they had no water views (don't know if this was true or because I got my room on priceline :)!) Anyway the bottom line is if you just want a clean room and can get a great price on priceline go for it!
