Taxi from Red Hook

We've done St. John on our own multiple times however, this July on Freedom I do have one concern. We port in St. Thomas at 11am and sail at 7pm. We are hoping to catch the noon ferry to St. John and then the 5pm ferry from St. John to Red Hook. Are taxis readily available at this time early evening at Red Hook? Any information/advice is greatly appreciated.

You do not have a good window of time. The five o'clock ferry is cutting it too close. Traffic will defeat you returning to the ship before sailing. Taxis at this time can also be scarce, but the traffic is the main problem in MI. Also the five o'clock ferry can be very crowded, late or perhaps full (have seen this) etc. Perhaps a visit to a beach on St Thomas is a better less stress choice? Whatever, enjoy:)
