jmarks Posted June 9, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 9, 2009 Trying to pull together an itinerary for our trip, and DH and DS want to do some fishing. Choices are Skagway, Juneau, or Ketchikan. I think I need to get this one nailed down and then other excursions will fall into place. Salmon fishing is preferable, and dates are the last two days in July, first of August. Any thoughts? If it matters, we don't arrive in port in Ketchikan until 10:00 am, where we are in port at the others by 6:30 am.
itravelak Posted June 9, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 9, 2009 We fished in Ketchikan last year, and did very well. Great trip.
jmarks Posted June 9, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted June 9, 2009 Hi itravelak, Glad to hear you had a good time fishing in Ketchikan. Do you remember who you chartered with, and when you were there? I'm wondering if the salmon will be gone by the time we get there, which would mean more halibut fishing, which is ok but we love the salmon. Thanks. Look for a booking out of Juneau or Ketchikan. My family are long time customers of Northern Lights out of Ketchikan. Budget for shipping and processing. itravelak Posted June 9, 2009 #6 Share Posted June 9, 2009 We fished with Rick (Explore Alaska Charters). We actually had a large group, so Rick set us up with a few boats to cover our whole group. We were all able to fish in the same area.
