Mud volcano tours

Has anyone ever been on a Mud volcano with a tour company or on their own? I heard it only costs about 20 dollars US but the Ship is charging almost 60 dollars. I would also love to do a stop at the fortress. Can anyone help me?

Well I did some research on my own and it doesnt sound like its safe enough to go with a taxi. It cost 50 to go with princess so were just going with them.

As a woman in Cartegena, I never ever felt unsafe. I live near Washington DC and it is way more dangerous to walk around in the city here! The mud volcano is really unique and interesting, but it does take awhile to drive there. I hired a taxi for the day (negotiated to get a good price) without any problem at all. And I don't speak Spanish.
