jh1461 Posted July 23, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2009 I am a certified SCUBA diver but haven't been ona dive in close to 6 years. I am booked on the Voyager of the Seas which travels to Roatan. While doing research for my trip I have come upon a lot of information that says Roatan is a really good place to dive. I also enjoy snorkeling so I am curious if anyone has any experience with both in Roatan. Would I be missing out if I didn't take a refresher course and dive in Roatan, or would I be just as satisfied with snorkeling?

You don't have to dive deep to see some great coral. This was one of our best stops for snorkeling. If you feel uncomfortable maybe you should take a refresher. I dove some 35 years ago but never was certified. That was stupidity on my part, but I never went below 30 feet and always had a couple of certified divers with me.
