cruisetours to Europe

We are interested in doing Europe next year, July 2010. We wanted more than just the cruise so we were considering the cruisetour with RCI on the Navigator of the Seas or the Brillance of the Sea. We like RCI but recently have been disappointed with them. Does anyone have a better suggestion? Is the cruistour worth the expense?

Sister lines Celebrity and Azamara also offer cruise tours, and their onboard product offers a higher level of service and quality overall.

For some, a cruise tour is a good option, as it takes care of all the logistics and gives you a nice overview of several different cities. But it is expensive - you're paying for that convenience. You can put together a similar itinerary on your own for less, though you'll have to schlep your luggage, arrange the trains, etc. With some time and effort, it's not bad at all, but it depends on your personal style and preferences.
