I have just returned from a short junket to Nassau out of Port Canaveral on SOS...and must say I was really happy to see the old gal holding up so well! This ship will go in for refurbishment shortly but they have done a nice job with this ship in spite of the very heavy usage back and forth to Nassau every week. The food was excellent - even though this was my 6th RCCL cruise I had heard some grumblings...not so sayeth I. Food and service were excellent as usual on RCCL - where I think you get quite a bit of bang for your buck. The only real complaint is I do wish they'd lose that ugly rock climbing wall now sort of stuck on the deck behind the Viking Crown Lounge/funnel. It just looks awful and really detracts from the now "classic" beauty of this ship. In that I am a ship freak and a cruise hound it was nice to have even a few days on board this old lady and I can't wait to see what they do during the refit...our dining room waiter was telling us they will really make some drastic changes! Will wait and see...

The refurb is in the middle of November, I believe after the 10th. If you look at their website there are no cruises scheduled from November 11th - December 10th. I believe I read on another post that they will be adding balconies to all the 10th floor suites.
