BDL Posted August 8, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 8, 2009 Which is better? Thanks in advance. Bonnie My opinion is 1556. In 1554 you are angled more toward the back of the ship and everyone along the side can see into your balcony.
cruisenfever Posted August 8, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 8, 2009 Which is better? Thanks in advance. Bonnie Hi Bonnie............GS 1556 is located right next to the RS on the hump. You can see both forward and aft and the balcony is more private. GS 1554 is at the beginning of the hump, has an odd shaped balcony, but you have less privacy because it is more open and folks forward can see you when they are looking to their right. Here's a picture for you to look at............... If you look at the covered lifeboat second from the right corner and then follow that directly up you will see 1554.......the next cabin to the left is 1556. Plus, you will get more sun on 1556 than 1554 if that's important. Hope this helps.
cruisienewbie Posted August 8, 2009 #4 Share Posted August 8, 2009 I believe RCL may consider 1556 the best as well. When I was booking (way in advance) I was going to get 1554. The RCL Vacation Planner said, no let's put you in the best GS, 1556.
Toodang Posted August 9, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted August 9, 2009 Thank you all for your help. I have 1556 already booked but I had 1554 on The Serenade to Alaska last year. It was a great cabin but...you're right...the people next to us had a great view of our deck. I'm so excited to have 1556 for our cruise to Alaska next May.
