port canaveral excursions

Hello - I will be on the Pride in September with a port of call stop at Port Canaveral. I was wondering for those who have been there (and I can't find this info anywhere), are there independent tour operators standing around at the port (like holding up signs as they do in some Caribbean ports of call) ready to take you where you want; or do you have to pre-arrange all excursions? I'm interested in an air boat ride (i've emailed one company with no response), or just a trip to the beach. Thanks for any info!
