tinaclose Posted August 31, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2009 We are renting a car from Budget - they have a shuttle that goes back and forth between the rental office and the cruise dock. We plan to drive to Louisbourg then maybe drive up to Glace Bay. Cape Breton is known for it's spectacular scenery. There are a lot of posts about things to do around Sydney if you do a search. Good luck!
scottbee Posted August 31, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2009 What is there to do in Sydney if you do not take a tour? You could go to the airport, and watch for the people expecting to be landing in Australia. http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/travel/travel-news/oops-flown-to-sydney--but-the-one-in-canada-20090814-ekpm.html
rsquare Posted September 2, 2009 #4 Share Posted September 2, 2009 If you are a history buff, there are two 18th century restored houses about two blocks from the dock, Cossit House and Joost house. Both are on the same block, different sides of the street. Cossit House is run by the government and very well restored; Joost house is private and something of a work in progress, but still worth seeing.
