Rare crewsweeper Posted March 25, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 25, 2010 This is out of San Pedro. Basically a deep sea fishing excursion with a cookout at the end of the day with your catch. Unless they pick you up in Belize City and return you, you'll have to catch a water taxi to San Pedro, just over an hour from Belize City. Most likely the earliest water taxi you'll be able to catch is 9 AM getting to San Pedro at 10:15 AM. And you'll have to make sure you catch a taxi back that arrives in Belize City before your ship's last tender. If your ship's last tender is at 4PM ship time, You'll have to catch a 1PM Belize time water taxi. The next one after that is 2:30 Belize getting you back at 4:15 ship time. So that's a lot of $$$$ for maybe 1-2 hours fishing and no eating. Water taxi link: http://www.guidetobelize.info/en/travel/belize-water-taxi-timetable-guide.shtml Captn Gerry link: http://ambergriscaye.com/captgerry/
ourtimenow Posted March 25, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted March 25, 2010 You are right! Welp, check that one off the list. Any suggestions for Belize?
Rare crewsweeper Posted March 26, 2010 #6 Share Posted March 26, 2010 Well, you might just want to take a water taxi to either Caye Caulker or San Pedro and wander around and get the lay of the land. There are plenty of spots to eat, some shops. Here's a good guide. http://www.belizefirst.com/documents/BelizeIslandsGuidebyLanSluder.pdf Big thing to do in Belize is either cave-tubing, or mayan ruins tours. Plenty of info on those here. Also good snirkeling abounds around th ebarrier reef and there are many snorkeling excursions which will pick you up at the ship versus you having to meet them on the tender dock or elsewhere.
