  1. We just boarded tonight and only want to give my first impression. This cruise line and ship blows every ship we have ever been on out of the water. It is fabulous. With all their mistakes the overall experience and ship is fabulous. Suite is above average. General ship fabulous and food is fabulous. More later
  2. That's it. Looking forward to seeing you. We are easy to find. My husband is 6'5" and looks like Tom Selleck. I, on the other hand am only 4'10". Hard to miss us. We are about to start our long journey.
  3. I agree with both of you. My feeling on Silversea is that I just don't like one dining room and the formality. It has been since before Covid that we cruised with them, but it felt it small and confining. Both my DH and I also do not like the formality although we do feel that the people on the ship should present themselves with some amount of decorum. No tuxedos for us. That was an attraction of EJ.
  4. Ah, West Covina--right in our back yard. My husband was formerly Mayor of Arcadia! Do not miss the San Gabriel Valley!
  5. Oh dear, there are those on the board who are really trying to whip up dissension and misery. Makes me sad. We should all have our own opinions! Nice to hear things about the ship, but not constant misery. There MUST be something good! LOL
  6. Not ego at all Hank. To each his own. I have had a parcel of kids and handled everything including a huge business all my life working up to 18 hours a day sometimes--lots. I like a Butler. There are other times--my friend who came in another suite rented a tuxedo which was HUGE, BUTLER ran all over finding pins! I do not let them unpack or pack, but one time my husband drank tainted milk on shore, Butler took care of him bringing all sorts of stuff. By the way, we followed our Butler! Weird, right! I don't go on a cruise to continue my heavy lifting. That being said, we only have a part time one on this ship. We will see how that works! Sorry if I seem uppity, but I am really quite a work horse!
  7. I like your post. My husband and I are 83 and 87. We are VERY ACTIVE and nothing is too much or too little for us to do. We like to think we are the new generation as we like the relaxed standards and some of what EJ is trying to do. Before Covid we cruised three or four times a year. We got plenty tired of dragging a tuxedo. However, we are aware that some people take advantage like one of our Senators and do degrade the "feeling". The less on the ship, the better for us and frankly we are hoping that our cruise which starts tomorrow is not full! Hope to meet a lot of you!
  8. We hope to meet you too. Prescott has unique weather. Never really hot and only a little snow in the winter. I am not sure you stayed around long enough to notice. Great little family town. We moved three years ago from Newport Beach, CA. Homes have gone up close to double since we purchased it. The only down side is we formerly were only 60 min from the airport, now is two hours. Hope to meet you too.
  9. We tend to make lemonade out of lemons, so the cruise will be good. We travel light, REAL light so luggage is minimal. Have it down to a science with designer stuff that doesn't wrinkle, so really don't have to unpack. Made all the difference this time. Thanks for the posts.
  10. We hope to see you on board too. Did you live in Prescott? We love it here in Hassayampa
  11. I do understand that and I was tempted to end it a day early, but it required so many changes for us, we just thought we would take a taxi up to the Ritz Carlton (close) and then walk down to Bergdorf for a little retail therapy. We don't figure on being off all day. It is an inconvenience, and the cruise line has handled this badly. We probably will never cruise with them again, but we are open minded.
