Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. For our June cruise we just booked it on-line in the cruise planner. Unfortunately, specialty restaurant Mariner discounts do not apply. And you can't book it as part of a HIA restaurant.
  2. Doubt they were New England crab legs (It was a snow crab cluster, claw and three other legs, say 1/2 lb) and, yes with a 3" x 3" x 3/4" filet of salmon. Maybe 1/2 doz clams and 1/2 doz mussels. 1/3 corn cob. I'm thinking some red potatoes as well.
  3. A cruise booking of 21 or plus days will get you the $300 in excursions pp, one wifi per person, 3 specialty restaurants etc. That's what we had for a single booking 21 day cruise in Dec 2023. We have an upcoming 21 night total cruise but it was booked as 7 day and 14 day segments (cheaper that way, same cabin on both) with different booking numbers. HIA is applied separately for each segment ie 7 day gets one restaurant, 14 day gets 2 restaurants if we want to add it on. If your 47 day cruise is built up of different segments on different booking numbers then the HIA rules should apply by segment and not the total 47 days.
  4. We did it on Rotterdam last Dec. DW loves seafood and it was good. They usually setup a section of the Lido in front of Canaletto and use the same kitchen. Kraft paper on tables, plastic bibs etc. Clam Chaaauuder, bucket of crab legs, clams, mussels, salmon, corn cob in a cream sauce. People were walking by, enjoying the aromas and trying to sit down. Thought it was part of the buffet. Already booked on our NS cruise out of Iceland in June.
  5. On a B2B with same cabin, separate bookings, not disembarking after first cruise. I guess I'll have to print & prepare two sets. One to get on and one to get off, in case I decide to not self-disembark.
  6. DS is on the 9 May cruise. Shouldn't have any itinerary changes since they were departing YVR at 1:00 am. OBC for missed lunch but wonder if they'll delay dinner since they won't start check in until 5:30 pm. So boarding at 6:30 to 7:00 for most.
  7. The 45% off is for the Evian water package 12 or 24 bottles. 35% off the booze package so about $56 USD pp/pd
  8. Hi Lauriael, Our DS would like to know if the Oasis Dunes are accessible//navigable. We were on Harmony just before Covid and had a ball up there.
  9. You'll have to do the math. If you have HAL cancellation insurance and add HIA they will increase your insurance contribution as well versus waiting until you get onboard to add HIA.
  10. Just like the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame seems to be less about Rock these days. Just opening up the lounge for some alternative music. Kenny G, Snoop Dog, Katy Perry etc. Just let us know if BB King's changes its name also.
  11. Great blog Laurieal ! Lurking on this post as we are doing the Westbound OTS in Oct with our 35 ish son (manual chair). You were pretty brave at Disney. He thought Slinky Dog was pretty extreme. I'll see if he has any questions for you. We're doing Paris, Lucerne, Venice & Barcelona pre-cruise. Planes, trains & automobiles it is.
  12. B2B in FLL you have to get off and go through US Border Services. They have to zero out the ship before letting anyone on for the 2nd leg of the B2B.
