Rare CTCruisers Posted August 4, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2012 We are looking at booking a cruise for this fall. One itinerary that appeals to us is on Princess. If we sail on Princess, does our VIFP (Gold) count on the ship? And, can we link it to our VIFP numbers? We have never sailed on Princess are on iterested in trying them out. ltcal94 Posted August 4, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2012 Unfortunately no. I wish they had a similar structure as the airline frequent flyer programs especially since I have two cruises on Princess booked for next year.
H82seaUgo Posted August 4, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 4, 2012 nope. seems they don't want you moving around their different products. and mostly, not earing your perks on the cheap product, and moving up to the more refined ones.

No. Each line's loyaltly program is independent of the others. But you can qualify for Past Guest pricing on Princess. On HAL, we were given 1 star Mariner status (but with 0 cruise days) that entitled us to lunch in the MDR on embarkation day, which was nice. I don't know if Princess does anything like that but it could be worth looking into.
RuthlessBoss Posted August 4, 2012 #5 Share Posted August 4, 2012 I think you can use past guest rate though. Thought I read that somewhere.
NCTribeFan Posted August 4, 2012 #6 Share Posted August 4, 2012 Right on Carnival's website under the FAQ section... Q. Do VIFP Club members earn points when cruising with sister lines? A. Benefits of the VIFP Club are unique to Carnival Cruise Lines cruises. VIFP Points may be earned only when sailing on Carnival Cruise Lines. Cruises taken on Carnival Corporation’s other own cruise lines will not earn VIFP Points and VIFP Club benefits will not be offered. But, yes, a past guest on any of Carnival Corporations lines qualifies for PG rates on any of the others. The Loyalty programs are all separate programs just as the cruiselines are separate lines. They're just all owned by CCL.
