jcs56 Posted August 15, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 15, 2005 Weird question...but can you buy good cowboy boots in Cozumel? My daughter is hoping to find some there.
cruiseescape Posted August 15, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 15, 2005 I doubt it. Most days are 80 degrees and higher there I can't imagine that anyone there would think to sell them since this would even make you hotter.
deedee290 Posted August 15, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 15, 2005 There is a nice leather store that handles boots and purses there. The first time we were there my dh bought boots there and the 2nd I bought a purse. They also had different boots made of "skins"...snake alligator etc. I know you want the name of the store, it is on my purse at home I will try to remenber to look and write again. Koalagal Posted August 16, 2005 #7 Share Posted August 16, 2005 Thanks for the Roger's boots info, I will add it to my "power shopping" list. Booked a snorkeling excursion, but should have time for 2 hours of shopping, if I'm quick...LOL
ScubaMare Posted August 16, 2005 #8 Share Posted August 16, 2005 Beautiful leather store right on the waterfront -- all kinds of leather as well as lama wool items, too. Big prices!
Koalagal Posted August 16, 2005 #9 Share Posted August 16, 2005 By Big Prices do you mean high, low or negotiable? And what are you comparing to? I live in midwest, leather is expensive, except at Tandy & I don't always want to make my own stuff....thanks again:p
ScubaMare Posted August 16, 2005 #10 Share Posted August 16, 2005 I thought the prices seemed pretty high in comparison to a store like Wilson Leather or similar. But, I believe the products we saw were much higher end, too. They had some very beautiful boots, coats, etc. Prices were not negotiable and we didn't see any real bargains but, then again, I don't go into leather stores very often so I have nothing to compare the prices to. esteam Posted August 18, 2005 #11 Share Posted August 18, 2005 just returned from our cruise. i too, was interested in looking for cowboy boots. i saw a nice pair in cozumel (don't remember the name of the store)$440.00. i think you can definately do better at home locally. Cowboys boots are back in style and although not authentic they will be much cheaper than $ 440.00. i also saw a nice pair in Glaveston Airport $300. MrsBoo Posted August 18, 2005 #12 Share Posted August 18, 2005 My dh always orders his from the Mason Shoe catalog. Just bought 2 pair for around $140 ea. They seem to last quite a while, too. They also have women's shoes. Can't remember if they had women's boots or not.
