sayaguru Posted December 26, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 26, 2007 I am trying to post some photos on CC but it says they are too large. How do I reduce the size so I can post them. I know this is not strictly a cruise question but I do want to post them here. Thanks anyone that can help.
Amlee Posted December 26, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 26, 2007 I have photoshop elements that lets me resize my pictures. Not sure if there is any other way to do that other than a program.

qiangf2 Posted December 27, 2007 #4 Share Posted December 27, 2007 You can get a free picassa account from google. Upload your pictures there, then post a link back here. Your pictures will be embedded in the message, which is really nice. But you may want to limit the size of your picture as well since too big a photo may overwhelm your readers. Let me know if you need detailed information on how-to (get your picassa account first. :))
parody Posted December 29, 2007 #5 Share Posted December 29, 2007 The Kim Komando newsletter sent out today provides answers to just such a question. While she suggests a number of sites where one can download a program to do this for free, a discussion of one of her sites can be found at http://www.komando.com/downloads/category.aspx?id=3207

parody Posted January 12, 2008 #8 Share Posted January 12, 2008 it is 4KB and 100x100 pixels I see that on the "User CP" page, it says that an avatar can be no larger than 80 x 80 pixels. Also, if you haven't already, note the radio button option on using avatars.
Aplmac Posted January 13, 2008 #9 Share Posted January 13, 2008 Speaking of photo sizes...there are some members who post photos on the cruisecritic Photo Gallery at http://pictures.cruisecritic.com/ as tiny little postage-stamp-size things. What's the point? Surely if you're going to show off your better stuff (not your run-of-the-mill junk) shouldn't it be somewhere around 5x7 or 8x10? I know there are no rules as to posting size and it is a Free World but I just thought I'd bring up the subject, to see if I'm wrong again. Maybe they chose US Mail instead of Email when they re-sized...? Dave
