SuperPlanner Posted April 22, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2013 Thought I'd share shortcuts to things I spent AGES trying to find to help make my decisions (wanted to skip certain menus in MDR so I booked the specialty restaurants those nights). Here is the most recent cruise compass I could find AND current (spring) menus for MDR and 150 Central Park. These are the only two restaurants who have spring menus. Chef's Table specialty restaurant has a menu that varies every cruise or sometimes nightly. The other specialty restaurants have pretty much the same menus from cruise-to-cruise (which can be seen on RCI website) with some unpredictable variation daily or between cruises (Giovanni's menu changes more than for example Chops). **Couple of notes not on compass or menus: - In MDR, you can order multiple dishes for each course (just don't order ridiculously and waste the food...lots of hungry people out there) - Different "after dinner shooter" daily in MDR - Chocolate breakfast in MDR on mornings of character breakfast - 2nd formal night in MDR is LOBSTER NIGHT - Soda package will get you Shirley Temples CRUISE COMPASS - Oasis of the Seas -APRIL 2013 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1827467 MENUS (MDR, 150 Central Park) 150 Central Park 2 menus: 1st menu for first half of cruise, switches to 2nd menu for second half of cruise; includes wine pairings MENU 1: GARDEN - 1st half of cruise -Homemade Organic Ricotta warm Borek Farms baby vegetables, orange, basil Schramsberg, Blanc de Blancs, California -Heirloom Tomato Gazpacho cucumber salad, marcona almonds, Swank farms onion sprouts Chalk Hill, Sauvignon Blanc, Chalk Hill AVA, Sonoma County, California -Homemade Fettuccine Florida rock shrimp, chorizo, Borek Farms baby vegetables, manchego Feudi di San Gregorio, Greco di Tufo, Campania, Italy -Wild Salmon Borek Farms Tuscan kale & cannellini bean ragout Elk Cove, Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, Oregon -Slow Roasted and Grilled Harris Ranch Beef Short Rib roasted cipollini onions, Swank Farms cress, romesco sauce Achaval Ferrer, Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina -Strawberry Shortcake lemon olive oil cake, lemon curd, slow roasted strawberry, basil, sweet cream Massolino, Moscato d’Asti, Piedmont, Italy MENU 2: MARKET - 2nd half of cruise -Falafel roasted eggplant, pickled vegetables, tahini sauce, flatbread Domaine Carneros, Carneros, California Curried Lentil Stew -Greek yogurt, cashews, scallions Bottega Vinaia, Pinot Grigio, Trentino, Italy -Pan Fried Gnudi hazelnuts, cipollini onion, sage, brown butter, piave vecchio Thierry & Pascale Matrot, Chardonnay, Meursault, Burgundy, France -Mahogany Black Cod whipped parsnip, Borek farms baby pak choi, mustard sauce Leth, Roter Veltliner, Wagram, Austria -White Oak Pastures Beef Two Ways pan roasted filet & braised short rib, farro risotto, glazed Borek Farms baby carrots, parsley sauce Caymus, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, California -Milk Chocolate Cremoso extra virgin olive oil, sea salt, espresso semifreddo, sourdough crostini Graham’s, Six Grapes Port, Portugal Main Dining Room DAY 1 - MOJO Strawberry Kiwi and Pineapple Smoked Fish Rillettes Eggplant and Artichoke Tart Toasted Farro and Lamb Broth Asian Coconut Seafood Soup Watermelon Pudding Spinach Salad Main courses Steak and Spinach Salad Seafood Spagehetti Horseradish Crushed Fillet of Atlantic Salmon Mojo Marinated Grilled Pork Chop Slow Roasted Prime Rib Soft Shell Tortillas Moist Almond Cake Carrot Cake Blueberry Peach Crumble Low Fat Mango Pudding Sugar Free Strawberry Charlotte DAY 2 - SAFFRON (FORMAL NIGHT) Shaved Cantaloupe and Honeydew melon Bay Scallop Gratin Oakwood Smoked Chicken Breast Lobster Bisque Chicken Consomme Chilled Banana and Rum Soup Roman Vignole Salad Main Courses Grilled Salmon Vignole Salad Shrimp Raviole Pan Fried Fillet of Barramundi Roasted Duck Filet of Beef Tenderloin Artichoke Filled Crepes au Gratin Bittersweet Chocolate Souffle Double Strawberry Cheesecake Sky High Lemon Meringue Pie Low Fat Berry Bliss Sugar Free Chocolate Pot De Creme DAY 3 - JASMINE Spinach Dip Seafood Ceviche Seared Beef Carpaccio New England Clam Chowder Hot Harira Soup Chilled Mango and Pineapple Soup Garden Salad Main Courses Chicken Caesar Shrimp Gyoza Pan Seared Fillet of Sole Roasted Rack of Lamb Veal Scaloppine Oscar Conchiglioni Pasta Two Tone Chocolate Praline Finger Strawberry Kiwi Pavlova Warm Chocolate Cake Low Fat Panna Cotta Sugar Free Chocolate Coconut Terrine DAY 4 - PIMENTO Caprese Salad Arancini Antipasti Creamy Roasted Garlic Soup Minestrone Chilled Strawberry bisque Insalata Mista Main Courses Lasagna Al Forno Tiger Shrimp Chicken Marsala Grilled Veal T Bone Steak Al Pepe Verde Eggplant Parmigiana Sticky Bread and Butter Pudding Tiramisu Dessert Sampler Low Fat Lemon Yogurt Cake Sugar Free Strawberries Romanoff DAY 5 - SHIITAKE Creamed Wild Mushrooms Seafood Salad Duck and Port Wine Terrine Roasted Poblano Pepper and Corn Soup Double Duck Consomme Roasted Peach Soup House Salad Main Courses Snow Crab Salad Three Cheese Tortellini Fisherman's Plate….Lobster Braised Beef Duo Thai Chicken Breast Soy Meatballs Grand Marnier Souffle Ivory Chocolate Mousse Baked Alaska Loe Fat Angle Food Cake Sugar Free Coconut and Lychee Semifreddo DAY 6 -BASIL (2ND FORMAL NIGHT - LOBSTER NIGHT!) drmomsc Posted April 23, 2013 #3 Share Posted April 23, 2013 Thanks!! Do you know if the menu for 150 Central Park on the Allure is the same? It sounds wonderful!
Let'sGo! Posted April 23, 2013 #4 Share Posted April 23, 2013 Were you on Eastern or Western itinerary? I understand the MDR does switch up the order of the menus - depending on the route. I could totally be wrong of course . Ann
hcps-osullivax Posted April 23, 2013 #5 Share Posted April 23, 2013 Awesome! Thanks, but does anyone have cruise compassess from the Western Itinerary for the month of April for Oasis? Thanks in advance
SuperPlanner Posted April 23, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted April 23, 2013 This info was posted for the Eastern route on Oasis. Menus should be the same on Allure and Western routes but possibly just different order (you can easily find the different menu days on CC and then come back to this post for what's on menu...i.e. the "basil" menu is always the same but may be scheduled for a different day).
