Shatima Posted January 30, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2013 Hey Everyone, Im a PLANNERRRRRR, as everyone on this Website is im sure.. lol :D.. My question is (bc im trying to Really plan my day) SO my questions to everyone is. What time did you Arrive at the Port? What time where you Cleared to get on the Ship? What time did you get to your Cabin ? What time did you Leave your cabin to Go down? What time did your Cermony Start? What time was it over? What time did the Reception Start? What time was it over and the last person left? I knowwwwww these are alot of questions, and I know some may not remember what time. and thats ok.. But a around about time would be great. :) I LOVE LOVE LOVE every single review, and im SO Thankful for Allllll of them.. (and some of you do put some of the times in your reviews..) Again Thanks Soooo much Brides
indyabs Posted January 30, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2013 I still have 4 weeks to go, but I know you hate people viewing a post and not commenting so I figure what the heck... Some of this is based off my site visit which also had a wedding that day, and others are just my assumption based of what I've heard from other brides on here. What time did you Arrive at the Port? - We arrived at 10:30 for our site visit and went right through the VIP line and up to check in. What time where you Cleared to get on the Ship? - The ship was cleared around 11:30 and we were the first ones to board and the wedding party was right behind us. What time did you get to your Cabin ? - The bride went straight to her cabin after boarding around 11:30. What time did you Leave your cabin to Go down? - They had their "rehearsal" at 12:30. After which, the coordinators invited the guests to please be seated and await the ceremony. The rehearsal was all of about 10 minutes. We didn't want to be a bother so we walked away during the rest of their ceremony. I would assume she started walking down sometime between 12:50 and 12:55 depending on where their room was. What time did your Cermony Start? - Their ceremony started at 1 and I've heard a lot of brides on here say the same thing, although I know it depends on where your wedding is at and how many are going on that day. I'm currently planning as if mine will be at 1 until I officially hear from them in a week or so. What time was it over? - Their wedding was over before 1:30. Carnival says to plan for only 15-20 mins for the ceremony. If my wedding is a 1, I'm assuming it will be over at about 1:15-1:20 and then I will use that extra time to take all the formal "stand a pose with your family" shots for 10-15 minutes. What time did the Reception Start? - There's started pretty much immediately following the ceremony. They stayed to take the formal shots and their guests were walked to the reception location. Again, I'd say this was 1:30ish and that's what I'm planning for so far. What time was it over and the last person left? - I was told on our ship tour that we needed to be disembarking the ship by 3, and we were treated just as if we were a member of the wedding party. This will differ though depending on what time your ship leaves port. My ship (yes, I consider this "my" ship) leaves port at 4PM, so I would take that into account too. Ok, that was my 2 cents for what it's worth! :-)

My question is (bc im trying to Really plan my day) SO my questions to everyone is. What time did you Arrive at the Port? We arrived about 10:15 What time where you Cleared to get on the Ship? There was a delay with customs on some passengers getting off the ship so we were't allowed to board til almost noon What time did you get to your Cabin ?We went right to our cabin... even with the delay mine wasn't cleaned...TWE didn't give them the correct information. RCCL did their best to make up for the mistake What time did you Leave your cabin to Go down?about 1:45 (rehearsal was at 1:25) What time did your Cermony Start?almost 2:00 What time was it over?almost 2:30 What time did the Reception Start? 2:30 What time was it over and the last person left? There were so many mistakes with mine (please dont be scared by this just have you contract and all will be fine) they let us keep the area til 5:00 and escorted our non sailing guests (12) off at about 4:30-4:45 I knowwwwww these are alot of questions, and I know some may not remember what time. and thats ok.. Rare lazydayz Posted February 5, 2013 #9 Share Posted February 5, 2013 What time did you Arrive at the Port? 10:15 What time where you Cleared to get on the Ship? 11:05 What time did you get to your Cabin ? 11:10 (bride and groom's cabin and parents of the bride's cabin both ready) What time did you Leave your cabin to Go down? Bride left the cabin around 12:35 What time did your Cermony Start? 12:45 (and bride watched the bridal party's entrance from the upper level of the theater) What time was it over? 1:05, then everyone stayed in theater for photos What time did the Reception Start? 1:30 What time was it over and the last person left? A little after 3:00 Carnival kept everything right on time. This was the Carnival Paradise and there were two weddings (1/31/13) that day. Not too much of an issue but one of our cruisers was initially seated with the other wedding party for dinner. It was cleared up immediately. rollissaria Posted February 5, 2013 #11 Share Posted February 5, 2013 Wow, thanks everyone for those great answers! If I could, I'd like to pose one more question :) For those of you travelling from out of town to your port (e.g. Miami) and are having a stylist come to your hotel to do hair and make-up...what time did/are they showing up? If you're a past bride, did you feel like you had enough time, were you late to the port, etc.? I guess it might help if you included # of peoples getting beautified (that's a word...right?) in your wedding party, as well. Thanks so much! indyabs Posted February 5, 2013 #13 Share Posted February 5, 2013 I can't answer all your questions because I'm still 3 weeks out, but my hair and makeup lady is arriving at the hotel at 6:30 and planning to be done by 9:30 (the shuttle to the port is leaving at 10, so she's giving herself a 30 minute buffer). It's my hair and makeup, 2 bridesmaids hair, and my mother's makeup that she's doing.

We had bride's long hair and makeup done, as well as three others for hair and four more for makeup. If you are getting married in Tampa, my daughter (the bride) highly recommends Destiny and Light. They finished up at 9:00, with a mad rush to the finish. Very professional and everyone looked great.

indyabs Posted February 8, 2013 #17 Share Posted February 8, 2013 Yes, your guests have to come dressed for your wedding. Carnival tells you that only you and the groom (or other bride) are the only ones that don't have to be dressed, but our bridal party won't be dressed yet either. I figure that we will have the two rooms for us to get ready in, they might as well get dressed in there too. I just told my guests to wear the same attire you'd wear to a typical afternoon wedding.
