Host Walt Posted June 20, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2004 Many of us have had a strong interest in the fate of the previous Rotterdam (Rotterdam V) that was retired by HAL as a result of the SOLAS regulations. There's an interesting thread in our "Whatever Happened To...?" Message Board that discusses this grand old ship...Rotterdam V Walt Tuthill Cruise Board Moderator Contact at Shiptender@aol.com
localady Posted June 20, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2004 Thanks for the info Walt!! The older ships are generally such splendid vessels, not looking like some of the cruising apartment buildings of today!!! Don't get me wrong , I love most of the newer amenities, just think that some of the maritime magic went the way of the Rotterdam V and those like her! Vic The Parrot Posted June 21, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 21, 2004 Walt That is VERY GOOD NEWS! IF everything goes as planned, I might be in Gibraltar later this year. I'll try sneaking a little closer to that yard to get a few shots. 16 - HAL 10 - Cunard 4 - Home Lines 2 - NCL 2 - Royal Viking Line "Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines"
