Crusing Bob Posted February 29, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 29, 2012 Anyone on the Zaandam recently noticed whether Rod is the Cellar Master. He was on the Hawaii cruise October 2010 and he was really great and personable. We hope he will be aboard this October for our repeat itinerary. Rare rafinmd Posted March 1, 2012 #3 Share Posted March 1, 2012 That's not something I would normally pay much attention but I checked at random the explorer for day 14 and found: http://zaandamasia.files.wordpress.com/2012/02/explorer14.pdf 2:00PM Cellar Master Ivica's Sparkling Wine Tasting Roy
Crusing Bob Posted March 1, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted March 1, 2012 Thanks, Roy. I am still hoping Rod will be on during our schedule. He was really a lot of fun.
Rockfan2 Posted March 4, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 4, 2012 We were on the Zaandam last April for a Sea of Cortez and enjoyed the wine tasting with Rod & crew. Sailed on the Zaandam again in September for Hawaii Circle and Rod is no longer on Zaandam. Neither is Rose. In September they didn't have a Celler Master and the wine tastings that we attended were presented by a Wine Steward and a ship officer. Rockfan2 The fact that your old favourites are no longer on Zaandam explains a lot. We were on her from Hong Kong to Singapore in January and the whole wine experience was abysmal. No problem with the wines themselves, just the organisation required to match a bottle with a recipient. I won't bore you with the details here as I have already written and posted a review on our cruise.
