Looking for info on Sensation

I think I've decided on the Sensation out of Jacksonville in October for an inexpensive family cruise. I would like information on the pools (does one have a slide?) and Camp Carnival. All opinions and comments appreciated!!

Thanks,

Pam

Don't know about Camp Carnival really but the main pool does have a slide. When I was on the Sensation I saw alot of kids doing Camp Carnival stuff, like savenger hunts ect and the ship seemed to keep them pretty busy.

Pam, unless I am mistaken (and I often am), the Sensation will be sailing out of Tampa until it relocates to N.O. The first cruise out of N.O. on Sensation is October 23, 2004.

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong. icon_confused.gif

We took our kids on the Sensation on the 5 day in Oct. of 2002. At that time they were 6 and 12. The counselers in Camp Carnival were really great with them doing many activities depending on age group and the kids enjoyed their time there. There is a slide for the pool but there is a minimum height requirement of 48" if I remember correctly.

That changed since the brochure was printed. This from Carnival Web site:

"The company also announced that the recently refurbished Celebration will assume the Holiday’s previously announced schedule of four- and five-day cruises from Jacksonville -- the first year-round cruise program from that port -- beginning in October 2004"

The Carnival Web site also shows that the Sensation will be moving to New Orleans in October from Tampa, beginning October 23rd. It won't be going to Jacksonville.

You can view her schedule here: http://www.carnival.com/Ship_Detail.aspx?shipCode=SE

Thx, Mark. It can be SO confusing, but I think that's what I just said:

The Celebration will be homeported in Jacksonville starting in October, and the Sensation homeported in N.O. starting 10/23.

I had Sensation on the brain...I did mean Celebration! Sorry!!!! But, I understand all the ships have some sort of slide, which will make my kids happy.

Thanks and sorry!
