tenmile Posted February 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2014 We are taking our first RCI cruise on the Allure next month, so please forgive the newbie question. I remember reading somewhere that the Allure has a secret public balcony on Deck 11 or 12 maybe? Is it aft ship? Could someone give me the correct information and how to access it. We have a starboard balcony, but we are looking for a good place to stand for the sailaway so that we can be make a Wave request on the Port Everglades webcam and be seen. Thanks. PantherFan Posted February 16, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2014 You are correct decks 11, 12 and 14 all have public balconies on the aft end of the halls both port and starboard sides. Just walk to the end of the hall and out the door. Also, deck 14 port side all the way forward is an observation deck above the bridge.
Shanafan Posted February 16, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2014 We just got off the Oasis this morning. We were in 11729 which is the furthest aft cabin. The large public balcony is at the end of the hallway on both decks 11 and 12. Enjoy!

The public aft balconies are on decks 11, 12, and 14. Just go aft in passenger corridors. There is also a forward observation deck above the bridge on deck 14. Use the port side passenger corridor and go forward out the door.

Twice on the Allure and just got off the Oasis today. Three weeks on these ships and I still haven't seen all there is to see!
sweetcruiser106 Posted February 16, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 16, 2014 The secret balconies are among my favorite places on Allure. You have a view aft to the side and of the diving well. It is a great place to hang out. Very relaxing! If you choose to be there for sail-a-way, in order to be seen on the camera, make sure you are on the port side. Have a great cruise!! tenmile Posted February 16, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted February 16, 2014 Thank you, everyone, for your information. Now we just need to decide if we want to be forward or aft for the camera! We are really looking forward to experiencing this ship and sailing with RCI.
suizas Posted February 16, 2014 #8 Share Posted February 16, 2014 Thank you, everyone, for your information. Now we just need to decide if we want to be forward or aft for the camera! We are really looking forward to experiencing this ship and sailing with RCI. We have sailed on this class 3x and our favorite sail away spot is Deck 14, port, forward to the observation area. It is a great spot for a "wave" on the camera AND you feel like you are guiding the ship out :-) Have a great cruise!!!
bugtyler Posted February 16, 2014 #9 Share Posted February 16, 2014 Shanafan how did you like your afts balcony...any problems...and if you visited secret balcony did you notice any smoking on them..
JasonV1 Posted February 16, 2014 #10 Share Posted February 16, 2014 Easy to miss unless you spent time looking out the front Solarium windows (which overlook that area). Plus only the port stateroom corridor on 14 can be used to reach it as someone said. I did not know about deck 14! Twice on the Allure and just got off the Oasis today. We loved the aft cabin and had 11729 on both Allure and Oasis. The only smoke we really smelled was in the casino and up on one deck on the port side. It was wonderful. You don't smell any walking past Boleros which used to be pretty bad. We were very pleased with the new smoking policy. I would also suggest this for sailaway as the aft balconies always look so dark on the camera, just my thinking that probably!
