Rental car

My DH mentioned that he would like to visit some family, who live around the area. If we fly in and get a rental car, are their any rental car companies close to the port that Royal uses? If so, do they have a shuttle to the port or would I need to get a taxi after dropping car off?

The last I heard, the only rental car office on the island open on Sunday was Enterprise, and it did not take one-way rentals. Perhaps this has changed. I would call the local office to be sure.

Avis has an office in Texas City, open on Sunday, that does take one-way rentals. However, you would need to take a taxi (around $50) back to the cruise port.
