Up country and haleakala tour

I considered renting a car. Lat time we rented a car and drove to Hana. Everyone had a great time. I want to gawk rather than drive this time.

There are several tour companies that offer daytime excursions to Haleakala and the surrounding Upcountry area (we live Upcountry), but none quite as convenient as what you have found with Ricky on the Big Island. The problem here is finding a company that will pick you up and drop you off in Lahaina. Yes, we are sure it can be done, but the cost may be more than what you want to pay. Some of the places the tour companies want to take you are fine, but others are not worth your time. We understand you are not keen on renting a car again (not all roads here are as crazy as the road to Hana), but it would be far more economical and allow you to see the points of interest that appeal to you. Kula Highway and Haleakala Highway are easy driving. Do give it some additional thought.
