lolavix Posted June 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2016 (edited) I wasn't sure where to pose this question, but since there are at least three snorkel questions on the first page of this forum, I figured this might be a good place to try. Does anyone have any recommendations for prescription snorkel masks that they have used? I need to get one for myself and my daughter for our cruise in August. We are both nearsighted. My prescription is pretty strong (something like -8 or -9) but hers isn't nearly as bad...she could probably get by without one, but I know that I cannot. I see several options on Amazon, but didn't know if anyone had a prescription mask that they either loved or one to stay away from. Our cruise has 5 different ports, so we do want to be able to at least see some of what is there. :D We don't wear contacts. Thanks. Capt_BJ Posted June 27, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 27, 2016 (edited) a mask is all about fit I would not invest in a mask I had not tried on masks come in a bunch of shapes and sizes as do heads . . . a visit to a decent dive shop is your best plan been an active diver since 1974 Edited June 27, 2016 by Capt_BJ
Fourseventeen Posted June 29, 2016 #3 Share Posted June 29, 2016 Personally I am a big fan of Atomic masks. Atomic places the RX lens in at their CA facility. As BJ mentioned though...a mask is all about fit. Go to your local dive shop and ask them which masks can be fitted for RX and try those on.
