Can someone recommend a really good tour for me in Nassau? These are the

things that I would like to do on the tour. Sightseeing, Spend some time at the beach, shopping for souvenirs, and eating some good Caribbean food.

I was in Nassau last week. Of course, the cruiselines typically offer tours that include what you are seeking. However, we have twice taken tours with licensed private operators that are waiting within the port area at half the price of the cruiselines. In fact, we just did that again last week with a genial man who goes by the name "Big T". We toured the city of Nassau, Fort Charlotte, the Cable Beach area, made a brief stop at a small straw market near the new resort area being developed west of Nassau...also stopped by Atlantis. He dropped off several in our party at the "Fish Fry" restaurant area and they took a cab back to the ship. Junkanoo beach is within walking distance to the ship (although it is not a short walk). Big T seems to be very accommodating to interests and probably would be willing to work with you to drop you where you want to be after the basic tour as he did on ours. However, I believe there were other private operators doing strictly beach excursions. Lastly, I do suggest sticking with the licensed private operators who are allowed into the secure port area and not someone whom you might meet outside.

Do you have contact info for him?

Sorry, I do not have contact into. I believe he usually waits near the end of the walkway from the piers, just before you reach the terminal building through which you have to walk to exit the terminal area. Again, "Big T" is not the only person offering private tours for there are several others. But, we had a good experience with him, the vehicle was reasonably new and clean, and he was pretty good when telling us about the sights in Nassau. Lastly, the cost is about half of what the ship charges for a similar excursion. The one thing to be aware of is that the stop at Atlantis was brief and we could not get into the aquarium section because that requires a separate ticket. If you speak with other private operators, you might want to ask them what their stop at Atlantis includes. Enjoy Nassau!

Love this idea, going to have to make a note of it.

Can you tell us how you liked this walking tour? How long it took you? How safe you felt? Was walking fairly flat not hilly? Were there others doing the same thing? Was it to hot? Do you recommend it? Thanks Just looking for another opinion of someone who walked it. :)
