You can catch the tube at St James's Park with one change at Gloucester Rd.
No, I wouldn't do the change there.

Take the District Line from St James's Park - you need any train going towards Ealing Broadway or Richmond (but not a Wimbledon train).

At Barons Court, change to the Piccadilly Line; you do this by getting off the District Line train, walking to the other side of the same platform (probably about 10 feet) and then getting on a Piccadilly Line train there.

There are three main destinations for Piccadilly Line trains.

You need to make sure you take a Heathrow train. Some Heathrow Trains go to Terminal 4, and then go around the loop to Terminals 1, 2, 3. Take one of these trains if you need to go to T4.

If you need to go to T5, take a train that goes to Terminals 1, 2, 3 and then Terminal 5 and go all the way to the end.

If you need to go to either T2 or T3, then the simple advice is to take the first Heathrow train and get off at Terminals 1, 2, 3.

The more complicated advice for T2 or T3 is that if the first train is a Terminal 4 train, the next Terminal 5 train will often be quicker to Terminals 1, 2, 3. This is because the Terminal 4 trains often wait there for 7 or 8 minutes before going on around the loop. The best way of working out what's best is to take the first (Terminal 4) train, and then listen for the driver's announcement at Hatton Cross. If he advises that there will be a long wait at Terminal 4, jump off at Hatton Cross and wait for the next Terminal 5 train and take that one stop to Terminals 1, 2, 3. But this requires paying attention, and some speed and agility.

Thank you. I know about smiths for airports do you know a better one?

Because they are based in Southampton, they would not be best for a West End to Heathrow transfer.

Uber would probably be a good as anyone, or try http://www.londonheathrowcars.com/ (picked at random from the hundreds of operators)

The fare should be £50/£60

As m'learned colleague says, don't do a District-to-Piccadilly change at Gloucester Road - the Piccadilly line is on the deep-level platforms at this point, not the sub-surface ones like the District. It emerges to the surface between Earl's Court and Barons Court

Smiths for Airports is a firm based in Portsmouth, often recommended on this board for Southampton transfers. I doubt they would be competitive for a central London - Heathrow job. Numerous previous threads will have other suggestions.
