Quebec City disembarkation

Having a hard time finding reasonably priced flights from Quebec City back home to San Diego after our October HAL cruise. Looking at the option of taking the train from Quebec City to Montreal and then flying from there (which would end up cheaper than flying from Quebec City, and about the same amount of travel time). Anyone have any input on this option, or other ideas for more reasonable travel for two mature ladies?

The train station is much closer to the port than the airport - in a pinch, it's walkable, although you also have the option of a short taxi ride or even using the city bus. The issue is timing - if you want to fly out the same day it might be tight.

It's completely doable. As mentioned in the post above, the train station in Quebec City is near the cruise port. When arriving in Montreal ( book the ticket to the Dorval station ) you'll see a sign for the shuttle to the airport, included in your ticket ( when booking it will prompt you to see if you need a shuttle ticket ) and you'll be at the airport in less than 10 minutes. The Dorval station is small so there isn't much walking and there's a bench to sit while you wait, shuttles go every 10 minutes or so. And they will all speak English.

Also looking at option of renting a car and driving from Quebec City to Montreal airport. There is a reasonably priced flight out of there at 4:30pm that would get us home by 11pm. Still a long day, but much more reasonably priced than flying from Quebec City.
