RCCL excursion - Taste of Sorrento & Pompeii # ES12

Does anyone have any experience with this Royal Caribbean excursion? I'm wondering if it includes a tour guide at Pompeii and whether it is worth it for the price.

The reason I'm even considering this pricey excursion is because I want to be sure to make it back to the ship in time.

Any help out there?

most people on here will advise you to contact one of several recommended private tour companies who will tailor a trip to your requirements and will offer more than just Pompeii

pricewise if you can get a group together from your roll call it will work out much cheaper but you don't say how much the RCCL cost is but I bet even for your own party it would work out the same or cheaper

there is a lot of hype about the guarantee the ship will wait for ships excursions but the reality is that the recommended tour companies have been doing this for years and if they failed to get cruisers back to the ship they would be out of business because of the adverse publicity

some even guarantee to get you to the next port of call if the worst did happen

And, of course, there is a "real" guide, sorry ashinze, I don't want to be rude and hope you'll excuse my remark, but I think you probably made a confusion between an audioguide (for self visit) and the headsets provided by ships tours allowing you to hear the "human" guide, without staying close.
