Things To Do In Ventura, CA

The day we disembark on July 22nd from our Carnival cruise in Long Beach, my friend and I are driving to Ventura. We'll be boarding a local dive boat there at 8 pm that night for a three-tank dive the next day. Even stalling to get off the ship late, getting a taxi to our hotel to get my truck, and driving to Ventura, I figure we'll still have at least seven hours to kill. Lunch and dinner will take care of maybe three hours, but that still leaves a big chunk of time. No way to board before 8 pm.

Can anyone suggest something fun to do in the Ventura area for a short period of time? Not interested in museums or amusement parks.

Go to the Mission San Buenaventura, from which the town derives its name.

Whenever we're in Ventura, we like to go to Ventura Harbor and have lunch and/or dinner. It's a nice relaxing place to walk around.

That's what we've decided to do, since the dive boat is there. Plus go visit National Parts Depot to pick up some things for my 68 Mustangs.
