Beach excursions in Progresso

Hello! We are trying to decide between the BBQ beach excursion and the resort beach excursion? I read that the pool was small at the Bbq one, and the sand was Ricky, the resort one seemed ok? Thoughts please. Thanks!:)

Carnival excursions?

I've been to BBQ beach one through Carnival, and yes the pool is small. The beach is not pretty and was full of seaweed. (Not dirty, but I wouldn't do another beach excursion in Progreso. It's similar to my Texas beaches back home, blah.)
