What to wear?

We have a cave tubing excursion planned for early December. What is the best clothing to wear for the walk through the jungle? Do we need long pants, or will shorts be okay over our bathing suits? Will swim shoes be okay, maybe with an added insole, or do we need to wear tennis shoes or other walking shoes? Will there be a place to put our extra things while we are in the caves? Thanks for your input.:)

There are lockers for rent at the site, so you will leave all your personal belongings in the locker, then walk through the jungle in your swimsuit with your water shoes on. It is a normal hiking trail, some rocks and some roots, but they don't walk fast. When you get done with the tubing, you are a short distance from the lockers and restrooms so you can change to dry clothes then eat at restaurant.

One additional suggestion. Wear a pair of old sneakers you're ready to throw out or close to doing so, or a pair of very cheap watershoes like what you can get at Target or Walmart or Academy. Then carry your other "return" shoes/sandals with you and put them in the locker. When done, drop your old shoes into the local collection box.
