Getting off early in Florence

If my cruise is Civitavecchia round trip and the last port of call is La Spezia, is it a good idea to stay overnight in Florence and fly out of there? The cruise line (if I book this one) is RCI.

You first need to check with RCI to see if you can get off before the cruise ends? This might not be permitted.

I have wanted to visit Florence for years. There is definitely way too much to do to see very much in only 6 hours. So yes, it would be great to stay overnight at a Florence hotel.

The key on this is to contact RCI to see if you can leave the ship before the cruise is over.

We are going on the Allure in August and doing just that. You have to get in touch with the cruise line before you go to set that up.
