Thanks RCI - Mariner - Burial At Sea

I just found this thread from 2010. I was wondering if anyone had any recent experiences burying their loved ones ashes at sea? I am hoping to honor my aunt's request on RCCL Allure of the Seas in Nov.

Not very recent, but we did it on Liberty in 2012. We had an excellent experience, and the ship handled the situation perfectly.

So moving reading all of these.

As a diver, the concrete balls sound like a wonderful idea.

I was thinking of having my ashes mixed with concrete in the shape of a dolphin, painted pink, and placed at the Neptune Memorial off of Key Biscsyne.

Unfortunately, my daughter wasn't too thrilled as she doesn't dive.

She asked me if she could keep the dolphin by her pool until she was ready and I said ok.

Hopefully it is many years away as I am in my 50's. :-)

These burial at seas comments are very moving.

Thanks again to the OP and others who shared their experiences with burial at sea on Royal Caribbean. It made it so much easier for me to carry this out for my husband. I just returned from sailing on Brilliance of the Seas and was able to arrange this for my husband, who passed in August, because of the information you shared. The staff on Brilliance who helped with this were so kind, caring, and respectful.

Blessings to those who have lost a loved one...the stories were touching my heart...
