Cruise port location New Orleans

I have another question. Where exactly is the cruise terminal? I am trying to figure out how big a deal it would be to stay at a hotel that doesn't offer cruise shuttle service and just pay for cabs instead.

Also, how much should I budget for cabs from the airport to downtown?

It would technically be called the Warehouse district, or the convention center area. Let me know if you have any questions, born and raised here in NOLA... And Still here!

You shouldn't have any problems walking pretty much anywhere you want to go. The WWII Museum is not far from where you are staying as well as Harrahs. The French Market will be a good walk but if you can walk a mile you shouldn't have a problem. Try a meal at Mother's restaurant if you get the chance. It is just down the street from you - as at your hotel for directions.

You are right in the middle between the WWII museum and the Quarter. If you look at mapquest, the quarter starts on Canal St. harrahs is on the corner Canal and the River... If you are heading to the quarter at night, take a cab! It would not cost more than a few bucks. The good stuff on "Bourbon" starts a block or so off of Canal, Iberville and Bourbon starts the fun. WWII museum, day walking is fine.

I don't really care for Mothers, unless you are definitely looking for a roast beef po boy. .. That's good. If you are looking for a Great Rest, check out Drago's at the Riverside Hilton, the best seafood and char broiled oysters. You can easily spend 30.00/pp. Anywhere on Fulton St. which across from Harrah's has incredible resturants.

During the day, unless weekend, Bourbon is pretty lame. However a block or two towards the River is really nice with cool shops. Royal St. and Jackson Square.

I don't care for the flea market, but they are in the process of revamping just not sure if it is complete.

Let me know if you need anymore help, you can email me at klstiger@cox.net. I don't check this board too often. What are the ages of your party? Any little tots?

Hope this helps!

Kristy
