Seattle hotel pre-cruise

DH changed our cruise from San Juan to one leaving from Seattle and we like the itinerary.

However, in MHO, it is too last minute as we have a Sept. sail date.

Flight planning was no problem, but I need hotel advice pronto.

It appears none are close to airport and we do love to explore.

Cleanliness, safe area and good food a priority.

Just learned our flight arrival is 7 PM . Not a lot of time for anything.

Marriott right at the pier.

I'm guessing you mean that your flight arrives at 7pm the day before your cruise departure? In that case you don't have that much time for exploring, as you said.

With Seattle, you basically have two options for hotels. Stay down around the airport: plenty of hotels, good prices, and a moderate cab fare to the pier the next day. But not a lot to do there.

Your second option is a hotel in downtown Seattle. Since you'll be short on time (if you land at 7, by the time you get your bags and transport into downtown it's liable to be 8:30pm) I would recommend staying at a waterfront hotel which gives you the option of doing a little walking around the waterfront area, and getting a nice dinner. We've used the Seattle Marriott Waterfront for this purpose. Marriott rates, but it's a nice hotel, and if you are cruising from Pier 66 you will be right across the street from the pier and can walk there with your bags in the morning. There is also the Edgewater hotel, same area, which many like as well

Note that if you NOT cruising from Pier 66, but instead from Pier 91, you will have a cab ride to the pier in the morning no matter where you stay. There are no hotels near Pier 91.
