pll Posted September 8, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 8, 2004 We will be on the Grandeur- Does anyone know if you can bring a case of bottled water on board?
RiverRev Posted September 8, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 8, 2004 we brought a case aboard the Navigator. We broke it up and put it in our suitcases. The water aboard is probably better than most bottled water, but we used ours for shore excursions. They were selling water bottles at the disembarkation port and with the mandatory 15% gratuity it worked out to $4.25 a bottle.
madforcruising Posted September 8, 2004 #3 Share Posted September 8, 2004 :D But please be very very very careful. You know to much water on a ship may have the risk of making the ship sink.:D :D
Guest cruzr44 Posted September 8, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 8, 2004 What I did was pack the water in a separate duffle bag and leave it with the porters to be delivered to my cabin. That way you won't have to lug it around.

tlzeterrell Posted September 12, 2004 #6 Share Posted September 12, 2004 We purchased a case of water at SAM'S that is wrapped up with the shrink wrap. At the dock we just stuck an extra cabin number sticker on it and they delivered it to our cabin, NO PROBLEM!
Tex_Jen Posted September 12, 2004 #7 Share Posted September 12, 2004 My sister bought a case of water in San Juan and just carried it on board. No problem. Of course, that was last April. No telling how much stricter they may be now. Jen
howard6933 Posted September 12, 2004 #8 Share Posted September 12, 2004 I don't understand why anyone would want to bring a case of water on a cruise ship. The ships have their own water desalination plants and that water is probably better than anything you could carry on with you. What we usually do is bring about 2-3 bottles with us to carry along on shore excursions. When the bottles are emptied, I take them to the cafeteria and fill them up again.;) Usually you have a small fridge in your cabin to store the water, and of course your cabin steward will keep you well supplied with ice.:)

hardingk Posted September 12, 2004 #10 Share Posted September 12, 2004 We always bring a liter or too, but the ships water is fine. We use it for the shore excursions.
4 cruisers Posted September 13, 2004 #11 Share Posted September 13, 2004 I can give you my reason, Howard... I have suffered with bladder/kidney infections all my life. Drinking a lot of water is important for my health. You know how some people prefer Pepsi to Coke??? If I have good tasting water, it will make it much easier for me to drink the amount I need. There is also a sodium issue. You'd be surprised how much sodium water such as Avion and even Dansini have compared to other distilled brands. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!:p
