Some ideas where to purchase rum and locally

Hi,

after taking a tour we would like to purchase some locally produced rum and some locally made trinkets for gifts. The tour operator tells us we will be at bananarama and of course the port, Mahogany Bay if weather permits. Suggestions of a grocery store to purchase the rum or some other store would be great.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Are you going from the port to Bananarama with a group or have you hired a private driver? If driver, he can help you out far better then we can. If you are going with a group only to Bananarama, hop a water taxi from the Infinity Bay pier. I will take you to the Village of West End, a funky quirky spot with shops and what not.

Additionally, there are vendors along the beach and the West Bay Mall behind Bananarama. Keep in mind everything is more expensive at in West Bay.. though Mahogany Bay could rival the prices. :0)

Victor's drivers can certainly take you to Eldon's in Coxen Hole (forget the newer name) or in French harbor. They probably know local places with better prices. Look for Pirates Grog Rum. It's made in small batches on Roatan. maybe the driver can take you to the distillery.

Going with the Victor Bodden's group, so maybe he can be of some help...

Thanks for the suggestions.

If you are going with a private driver who works for Bodden the yes ask the driver.

If you are in fact going on a group excursion that Bodden is organizing.. the West End/West Bay options are best. It is not fair to ask the group excursion people to wait on you to go shopping.

Yup, the group and I wouldn't think to ask for the group to wait. So, looks like West End/ West Bay it is. Thanks for the help.
