Has anyone done a family slot tournament?

I have this idea of giving my kids and DW some money - $20 and having a small family slot tournament for fun. Has anyone done anything like this? I want to make sure that we somewhat share the winnings and so we are cheering for each other - if that makes sense versus winner take all. Any ideas would be appreciated. We sail on 1-10 on the Caribbean Princess. I was thinking of one rule that each person has to run through the $20 at least once and can stop anytime after that and was thinking of pooling all the winnings and splitting it up 40%, 30%, 20% and 10%, but if everyone wins then that would be bad for the 10% person. Or maybe the winner gets all their money and the other 3 split the remainder in thirds???

I actually do this sometimes with friends. This is what we do. Take the number of people playing and add 1 to the number(total is the shares). Then divide that number into 100 to get the percentage per share. Pick a machine or table(this would require a set amount of time or hands). Have everyone run their money through one time. The one who has the most money at the end of their turn gets 2 shares and everyone else gets one share of the total money left.

Example:

-4 players(so 5 shares)

-$20 each

-players totals after playing

-1-$20

-2-$45

-3-$6

-4-$31

-total for all $102

-each share is now worth $20.40

-so player 2 gets $40.80

-all other players get 20.40

-now whomever wants to play again, can

In this example player 2 will win even if they play a second time. One tip I can give you is to not keep running the money through as eventually you will lose it all. With paying out after each game, at least you will not go broke and some one will be ahead after each game.

This really is fun with friends.

Don't know if this helps but, it works well for multiple players. Only one player wins more than the others. All are the same and saves much time figuring out the split and the small change counting. Just a thought. :D

SLOT PULL RULES

CASINO

Wheel of Fortune machine

$15 entry buys 5 pulls at $3 per pull

Sign up at the M&G or at the machine

Sign in and pay at machine

Play in order of sign in

Late sign in ok as long as first round is playing

No replay entries after game start

By group vote, additional rounds may be played

for those interested.

Payout will be the share, paid out rounded down

to the closest dollar and left over change will

go to the person who has won the greatest amount

for the group. (don't have to worry about the small change)

Lucille will be book keeper (full disclosure of money)

and will start the round. I will anchor the team.

Good luck and have fun. Harry

We did this same slot-pull game on the Star. Only difference was we paid $20 and $5 went into a side pot. The person with the highest single pull won the side pot. We ended up winning 31.50 per person at the end. The winner of the side pot won a Wheel of Fortune for $400. He didn't get to keep it (shared winnings) but he did get a side pot of $180.
