Amsterdam--great places to photograph

Recommended Posts

We've been to Amsterdam before and will be flying in the day before our cruise--Our air isn't booked yet as 11 months ago but the planning has begun!!! I'm into landscape photography and scenery. I have seen around central station there are alot of beautiful churches so this will be a area that we will go to. Another is the flower market. When we were in Europe in 2008 loved the fruit and veggie stands - any of that in Amsterdam? Any other places that must not be missed? I know there must be a list a mile long. We did a canal cruise, Anne Frank's house, red light district and walked around and also believe we went to a diamond factory.

This is what I also posted in your questions re tramnr.

Any canaltour shows you a lot of beautiful spots. Also the Jordaan area is known for that. If possible climb the Westertoren for a view over the city. Also the bar in Doubletree Hotel (near CS) and the librabry have great viewpoints.

One of the famous daily markets is Albert Cuyp, which can be reached by tramnr 16 and 24. There are also markets in other places depending what day you will be there.

The whole area around the canals is photographic. If you like modern buildings then visit the area around the cruise terminal.

Or you can take a bus or train to Zaanse Schans for a view at the windmills etc. http://www.dezaanseschans.nl/en/

Oh my we saw windmills when we were there of course but what you posted is stunning. Hmmmm I think we may have to fly in for another day so we have 1.5 days. I'm so glad I asked this question and thanks so much for answering.
